About
The Center for Teaching & Learning was established by Dean César Malavé on March 13, 2017, as a manifestation of his career-long commitment to excellence in engineering education. An essential pillar of Texas A&M at Qatar’s strategic vision, the CTL is tasked with reaffirming and aiding in our campus’ commitment to create the best educational experience for our students while also providing the necessary resources for our faculty members to excel in their teaching. To accomplish these goals, successful pre-existing programs that support student learning (an academic success center, and an engineering enrichment program) were merged with a new program to provide training and development for faculty and teaching staff. Housing these programs serving various stakeholders in a single center encourages collaboration and feedback between teaching and learning, thus improving the educational experiences of students, staff, and faculty alike.
Mission
The mission of the Center for Teaching and Learning is to lead in the development of opportunities and resources for engaged teaching and learning at Texas A&M University at Qatar.
The Center for Teaching and Learning has three focus areas: student learning support, student engineering enrichment, and teaching innovation. By working together, we aim to be a campus resource and leader.
